After OSK was dissolved by their parent company Kintetsu in the year 2003, the OSK Survival Association was formed by volunteers and members of the theater to keep the company alive. "Netsuretsu Kagekidan re-BIRTH", directed by Kitabayashi Sawako, is the very first show OSK put on after successfully reforming as a new independent company about three months after the dissolvement. The (very meta and self referential) story of this musical is about theater performers who were laid off and are now in search of "normal" corporate jobs. But however hard they try, they can't seem to let go of their passion for the world of performing arts.
