A Great Man of God: A Servant Of God and A good Shepherd from Nigeria Ibadan Oyo State, king Sir Isaac Babalola Akinyele. Grandpa Kabiyesi Oba/King I.B. Akinyele. He was the son of Josiah Akinyele, an early convert to Christianity in the eighteenth century. NB: Oba means King 👑. His Elder brother Alexander became a clergyman and later a bishop. As a clergyman, Alexander was one of the founders of the Ibadan grammar school Oyo State of Nigeria. Isaac entered government services in the junior ranks to which Nigerians were confined in those days, becoming a customs inspector for the Ibadan District Council in 1903. Later Pastor, Oba, Sir Isaac worked as a farmer for a couple of years. In 1914, he and his brother formed the Egbe Agba O’Tan, a small tribal association. He was a prominent figure, serving as the first educated Olubadan (traditional ruler) of Ibadan and a key leader in the Christ Apostolic Church. Parentage: Son of Josiah Akinyele, an early Christian.
