He opens up about the initial challenges of being one of the first foreign student at his institute, the influence of his teachers, and the eventual blossoming of his educational work, including his impactful online video content and publications. 🔹 About the Guest: Shaykh Hashim Mohamed Shaykh Hashim Mohamed was born and grew up in Barbados. His journey to Islamic scholarship began in the UK when he joined the Islamic Da'wah Academy (IDA) in Leicester in 1999, becoming one of the institution’s first foreign students studying purely for the sake of knowledge. Following his graduation, he was devoted to teaching at both the Darul Uloom and the evening madrasah, covering a range of vital Islamic sciences, including Urdu, Ṣarf (morphology), and Balāghah (rhetoric). Driven by the advice to be known by his work, he established a successful Madrasah in 2012, which has since grown significantly. A dedicated author, he has penned several popular works, including the "First Steps To Understanding" series for Arabic and Urdu. Shaykh Hashim’s sincerity and persistent effort have made his video content and courses a source of beneficial knowledge for students globally.
