Reason vs Intuition This Week:    • WK 11: WILL-POWER: REASON VS. INTUITION   The Sunday Service from Week 11, titled "Reason vs Intuition," explores the relationship and differences between reasoning and intuition in spiritual understanding and decision-making. It explains that while society often places a high value on reason, reasoning tends to be discontinuous and stepwise—moving in fits and starts without a smooth flow. This lack of flow makes reason alone less compatible with the dynamic energy that generates spiritual magnetism and deeper understanding. In contrast, intuition is described as a natural faculty of the mind that arrives at understanding through a continuous flow of awareness. Intuition often leads to knowing what to do without having reasoned it out logically. For example, people sometimes just "know" the right course of action even when reasoning suggests otherwise. Women often have intuitive insight into people’s trustworthiness, while men may have intuitive clarity about projects or practical matters. Importantly, intuition is not a rare gift but a faculty that can be developed. It grows when one refrains from overusing the reasoning faculty and instead steps back to "feel" the situation rather than analyze it intellectually. This involves trusting a deeper sense of knowing beyond logical sense-making. The teaching highlights that intuition is the soul’s power of knowing God and that spiritual perception arises only through intuition, not mere reason. Reason and intuition are complementary: reason needs the guiding hand of intuition to develop clarity; without intuition, reason can become intellectually brittle, wandering into doubt or materialistic outlooks.
