Caecal Dialatation In CB Cow Case study : A case of 8 Months pregnant CB cow was presented with the history of not passing stools,  colic, kicking at belly, anorexia, restlessness. Examination revealed- Ruminal atony, Water consumption is more, Rumination absent. After P/R examination revealed only sticky mucus with balloning of intestine ,fetal movements were normal *Tentative diagnosis - *Intestinal obstruction suggestion :Suggested for operation Owner convinced & ready for operation on next day . Premedication: Intravenously : Inj.NS 5 Lits. Inj.RL 2 Lits. Inj.Sodium acid Phosphate 30ml Inj.Nervine tonics 15ml. Inj.Ethamsylate 10ml. Intramuscularly : Inj.Ceftriaxone +tazobactum 4.5 gm Inj.Flunixin Meglumine 20 ml. Inj.CPM 20 ml. Surgical site preparation : Cleaning ,disinfection & shaving was done on right paralumbar fossa . Paravertebral nerve block & Site was anaesthetized with 2% Lignocaine HCL. 7-8 Inch incision was taken over right paralumbar fossa, muscles were severed bluntly, peritoneal cavity was opened ,after passing hand into the abdominal cavity ,huge balloning was palpated ,several efforts were made to recover block out of cavity ,after incision was increased huge mass was removed showing caecal dilatation , 2 inch incision was made over distal end of caecum & about 20-25 kg.faecal material removed manually .caecum was lavaged with normal saline ,insion & Slight tear was closed with Lambert & Cushing suture using catgut no .0.Caecum was placed gently into abdominal cavity and checked for obstruction if any ,but there was absence of block .Pow.Strepto-penicillin & Inj.Metronidazole was instilled ,muscles & peritoneum was sutured with Catgut no 1 using interlock suture pattern ,skin sutures taken with nylon . Postoperative treatment : Inj.Inj.Ceftriaxone +tazobactum 4.5 gm Inj.Inj.Flunixin Meglumine 20 ml. Inj.Inj.NS 3 Lits. Inj.RL 2 Lits. Inj.D25% 1Lits. Inj.CBG 500ml. Inj.Sodium acid Phosphate 30ml Inj.Nervine tonics 15ml. After 4th day of operations ,P/R examination done & slight pasty stools removed ,animal stated feeding normally ,On 5 th day animal passed feces on its own .
