A well-worn but well-maintained S&W revolver from about 1910. The 'Magna' grips are not original -- they are from my K-22 Masterpiece. (text continues) The .32-20 features a rather long cartridge case. It was chambered in both rifles and revolvers, and in the black powder era served as small game and utility cartridge. Guns are still being manufactured in 32-20, but there is a temporary shortage of both factory ammunition and brass cases. The 32-20 case was often modified to serve in 7.62 caliber Swiss and Swedish military revolvers. The 7.62 Nagant 'gas seal' cartridge case can also be modified for use in these same revolvers, so as an experiment I tried using some of this ammo in the S&W -- it works! The rim is thinner front-to-back than the 32-20, but this did not result in any light primer strikes with my S&W. Accuracy with Lapua HBWC bullets was impressive considering.
