Planning - Communication & Auxiliary Hardware ● We have selected most of the important hardware for our control panel (IO Hardware and Power Distribution) ● Need to determine what communication hardware will be needed, if any ○ Radio ■ Many different types and frequencies that can be used ■ Remote Sites ■ This would include using an antenna and polyphaser for lighting protection ○ Network Switch ■ If radio’s are being using, there is a good chance this will be needed ■ Allows all devices that are connected to it to communicate, including the radio to transmit data ■ Need to determine what type is needed? ● Speed ● Power (POE) ● Managed or Unmanaged ● Etc. ● Now you need to select the rest of the auxiliary hardware for the panel ○ Wire ducting ■ Size, color and brand ○ Din Rail ■ Deep or narrow ○ End stops ■ Keeps hardware secure on the din rail ■ Different styles ○ Ventilation ■ Panel heaters ● Mainly used for panels in outdoor environments, or exposed or cold temps ■ Fans, vents, louvers ● Needed to help dissipate heat that will be generated within the panel ● Lots of different options and brands ● Not always necessary, depending on the application ■ Control Panel Lighting ● Used in areas where there is no external lighting (vaults) ● Not common on solar sights ● Used in conjunction with door switches ■ Hole plugs ● Commonly used on site when you are making modification to the panel, but can be used out of the factory for future conduit that may enter the panel. ■ Label displays and holders ● Allows you to label hardware through the panel so that operators can easily identify what they are getting into ● Once this hardware has been determined, you can move on to the next stages of the build Get the FULL video transcript here: https://www.rspsupply.com/education/a...
