Track 4 from their debut album "Shuttered Room" released in 1982 copyright MCA Records. It was recorded in England and was produced by new wave artist and popular producer Rupert Hine. The band, initially named Portraits, was formed in London in 1979 by vocalist Cy Curnin and drummer Adam Woods. They placed ads to recruit the other members of the band. They released two singles for the German label Ariola Records after which they changed the band's name to The Fix. The singles were noticed by executives at MCA Records, who offered the band a recording contract. Not wanting to be seen as endorsing intravenous drug use, MCA insisted that the band change their name and The Fixx was seen as an acceptable compromise. Four singles were released and "Stand or Fall" became the most successful, reaching No. 76 in the U.S., No. 54 in the U.K., No. 37 in Canada and No. 33 in Australia. "Red Skies" reached No. 101 in the U.S, No. 57 in the U.K. and No. 44 in the Netherlands. It was praised for its originality and was later performed by the band on Saturday Night Live in February, 1984. The album received above average reviews and reached No. 133 on the Billboard chart, No. 77 in Australia and No. 52 in Canada. Written by Charlie Barrett, Cy Curnin, Rupert Greenall, Jamie West-Oram & Adam Woods and produced by Rupert Hine. RIP Rupert Hine.
