2026 has opened with a fast-moving array of geopolitical developments spanning the globe. We invite you to join us for a public discussion at the Centre for Geopolitics to ask if, amongst the noise, the emergence of a new European security order is underway, as questions are raised over the durability of international arrangements in place since the end of WWII. With a diverse panel representing political, humanitarian, academic and international legal perspectives we will survey the risks and opportunities that lie ahead for the continent of Europe. The event draw on the results of the latest CfG Strategic Simulation event, held earlier in the day, which will have focussed on UK and broader European vulnerabilities in the face of shifting global power structures. Established in 2015 the series has previously modelled subjects including NATO cohesion, Russian State hybrid warfare, the geopolitics of Greenland, fossil fuel energy dependencies and critical undersea infrastructure. Panellists Adam Wurr – Lead, Centre for Geopolitics’ Strategic Simulations Claire Clement – Director of International Law and Policy, British Red Cross Rt Hon Charles Clarke – Former UK Home Secretary Prof Brendan Simms – Director of the Centre for Geopolitics
