Istaravshan scored on the 80th minute, levelling the game to 1-1 moments before the video was taken. The Energetik goalkeeper was outraged and felt the goal shouldn't have stood. He showed his disapproval by attempting to kick the referee. The referee quickly showed two red cards to Energetik Dushanbe players and the brawl ensued. After the players fled to the changing rooms, the pitch was cleared by police and the Istaravshan players came out ready to resume the game. Energetik refused to return and the match was abandoned, with a 3-0 win awarded to Istaravshan.
