The fourth release by Berlin-based NUUK once again showcases the duo’s deep connection to field recordings and synthesized sounds, resulting in a captivating journey through natural imagery. NUUK’s music is characterized by an escapist mood, evoking narratives of northern landscapes: the sea, majestic fjords, sparse greenery, and enchanted forests. The duo’s compositions also reflect the fragile, ephemeral nature of an endangered world—melting glaciers, vanishing flora and fauna, and shifting seasonal cycles. 'FOUR' is NUUK’s most bass-heavy work to date, boldly emphasizing the arduous efforts of seafaring in the subarctic.
