"Jill, I love you!" - vehicle pursuit past the Missouri State Capitol - Jefferson City, MO

On December 21, 2023, Jefferson City Police officers attempted a traffic stop on a gold Ford F-150 after learning the driver had an active felony warrant. The vehicle initially stopped but then fled, leading officers on a pursuit through downtown streets, around the Capitol building, and onto Highway 54 across the Missouri River Bridge. During the chase, the driver cut off multiple vehicles, failed to maintain lanes, and evaded spike strips laid near the Amtrak parking lot. The pursuit continued onto Highway 94, where officers conducted a felony traffic stop. The driver was taken into custody without incident, while a female passenger was detained, interviewed, and later released. Charges included resisting arrest (felony), failing to yield to emergency vehicles, careless and imprudent driving, and driving while revoked/suspended. The suspect had an active felony probation and parole warrant.
