ABANDONED OVERLOOK!: New Melones Dam Overlook

In January, 2019, Ashley and I checked out the New Melones Dam Overlook which overlooks Iron Canyon, the New Melones Power Plant, and the New Melones Dam! I have been scoping this spot out for some time, so I'm glad to have finally got out there! I have done some extensive research to determine why this particular overlook was closed to motorized vehicles, essentially making it accessible only by foot, and all I could find was that once the dam construction was finished, the land management agency in charge of this site decided to close it. I am still not sure what the giant silo structure is for, but I can only assume it has something to do with the operations of the power plant. Thanks for watching, and stay tuned for more adventures!
