Full disclosure, we bought this tent on sale for $350 (CAD). And the verdict is: YES the MEC Base Camper 4 Tent is totally worth it! This tent is high quality and should be considered if you're shopping for a new camping home. It is definitely a step above your Walmart options, like Coleman, Ozark, or Outbound. We would consider this in the same calibre as MSR, North Face, Big Agnes, Marmot, etc. The hardware, like the poles, zippers, clips, pegs, etc feel robust and high quality. The tent fabric and rain cover are durable materials and can withstand the outdoor elements without any issue.
