After the Supreme Court’s recent decision, protests over the Aravalli mountain range have intensified in the Udaipur division. Social organizations, environmental activists, and common citizens are running a campaign to save the Aravallis, from the streets to social media. According to environmentalist Dr. Anil Mehta, the Aravallis are the backbone of Udaipur’s natural water system. The wave of violence and hatred against Hindus in Bangladesh shows no signs of stopping. The brutal killing of Dipu Chandra Das and the incident of burning his body have pushed the minority community there into deep fear. Zero oil pressure in an aircraft engine is not a minor issue—it is like a heart attack for the plane. Fortunately, this “attack” occurred when the aircraft was close to home (the airport) and the “doctors” (the pilots) were fully alert. Once again, signs of a major political upheaval are emerging in Maharashtra.
