HELP IN NEED (HIN). HIN is an independent non-political and non-profit civil society organization initially registered under Trust act in 2003 and then, in 2008, registered under companies' ordinance of 1984, government of Pakistan (License # 426/2055). HIN mission is to build institutional frame works for people empowerment, through human development, social integration, moral uplift, instant relief and augmentation of natural environment, in a dignified and transparent manner to cherish a vibrant, promising and self-reliant society. Our present level of efforts may seem very humble but our ambition is very high. Emergency Relief & Rehabilitation: Pakistan has been a victim of different disasters both natural and man made, which have intensified in the recent years, have increased vulnerability of the subject groups. Help In Need stands serving in the front line played its role in the recent conflict in NWFP and FATA region and provided support to the IDPs of Food and non-food items. HIN is involved to support the poor people displaced by war like conflicts at Bajour, Sawat and other areas. In camps and other areas, we provided food and non-food items in collaboration with different organizations. Our field office Peshawar is implementing this project in District Malakand, Dir and Sawat. Three thousand one hundred and eighty three families (individual 22,398) are getting food items on monthly basis. Food scale per family was consisting as 10 kg Wheat Flour, 2.5 kg vegetable oil, 2 kg pulses, Rice 5 kg, Sugar 3 kg and Salt 1 kg. In non food items we provided 1 mate, 1 water colors and 1 match packets among 200 families. Provision of Water Dispensers: Help In Need found that the safe drinking water facilities are not available at the IDPs camps in Mardan and Swabi, which causes the affected a great problem. HIN installed the dispensers that benefited 1235 individuals of camp schools, people and patients. Dispensers installed with the consultation of line departments. Provision of Shelters (Earthquake-affected families at Ziarat, Baluchistan): In response to the 6.5 magnitude earthquake that hit Ziarat division of Baluchistan on October 29, 2008, HIN provided emergency relief. The life threatening cold that posed a great degree of risk to the homeless people as night temperature reaches four in the night.
