FATHER RYAN'S Jokes and Funny Stories for Homily & Preaching, "Our God is a God of Joy",1ST SERIES

/ @ryanjimenez4589   This is the 1st series of Father Ryan's jokes and funny stories. All stories are from the excerpts of the homilies of Father Ryan selected from the previous Sundays. Our God is a God of Joy. He desires us to be happy and blessed. God is the source of the real joy. God is source of true joy, the joy that lasts forever where no one or nothing can destroy. Once we are always connected to God, joy is the natural consequence. Naturally it tells us that we are in the right tract. Psalm 1 says, "Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, Nor stand in the way[b] of sinners, nor sit in company with scoffers. 2 Rather, the law of the Lord[c] is his joy; and on his law he meditates day and night. 3 He is like a tree planted near streams of water, that yields its fruit in season; Its leaves never wither; whatever he does prospers." The following jokes are the excerpts of the Sunday homilies and reflections of Father Ryan, RCJ. Every week, Father Ryan uploads his Sunday Homily in Youtube. In each homily, Father Ryan inserts jokes or funny stories to illustrate some points of his reflections. Though some of these jokes are corny; but nonetheless they are already good enough to make us giggle a little bit. Father Jimenez belongs to the religious order known as Rogationists of the Heart of Jesus (RCJ). This congregation is founded by Saint Hannibal Mary Di Francia, an Italian priest-saint who hailed form the southern city of Messina, Sicily, Italy. The charism of the congregation is to PRAY (Rogate), promote and propagate vocations to the religious and priestly life. Generally, the Rogationists daily pray for good and holy workers in the Church. We are not only praying for good and holy priests, we pray too for good and holy lay people. This Rogate comes from the Heart of Jesus who upon seeing the crowd abandoned and harassed like sheep without a shepherd. And the Lord commanded, "Rogate Ergo Dominum Messis" Pray to the Lord of the Harvest (Matthew 9:35-38, Luke 10:2). Rogationists do not only pray; the other side of the Rogate is to promote and enhance the dignity of everyone especially the poor and the needy through acts of charity. Without charity, Rogate is not complete. Thus, Rogate is Oremus et Caritas. Moreover, Jokes are reminders that life is meant to be enjoyed. In the Gospel, when Jesus preached, He used stories, parables, images that powerfully drove His points. It was easy for His listeners to understand Jesus. Stories like pictures are worth a thousand words. They serve as instruments that will help the audience to go into deeper reflection on our Christian life and faith. Experience tells us that mere thoughts/concepts lead the audience to sleep. It's like a body without a skeleton. While using stories help them to relate and picture out, how much more if they are interesting and hilarious stories especially when to the true-to-life events. Life is beautiful (La Vita e bella). Despite of so many problems and preoccupations, it’s so good to live and experience the beauty of life. God has created the world beautifully. As the old poem goes, “All things bright and beautiful. All creatures great and small. God made them all.” Naturally, those joyful people are faithful people. They are filled with trust and confidence that God is always in control of everything. By being cheerful in life, it is already a witness to the Gospel of joy. Joy comes from our real encounter with God. Let’s put our trust and faith in God. In God, we are safe for He is our refuge. May these hilarious stories inspire everyone to live life as God intends for us. Let's laugh with God! "If we don't have humor, we will have tumor". #FatherRyanJokes #FunnyStories
