Join me as I explore some of New Mexico’s most fascinating and unique locations! In this video, we dive into local legends and historical sites across the state. I started my journey on the University of New Mexico campus in Albuquerque to check out this curious architectural spot located between Mitchell Hall and Ortega Hall called "The Center of the Universe". Stand in the center and test out its unique acoustic properties! Location: Yale Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106 (between Mitchell & Ortega Halls). Petroglyph National Monument: Next, I headed West of Albuquerque to this sacred landscape to marvel at over 20,000 ancient indigenous rock carvings along a 17-mile volcanic escarpment. It's a truly powerful place to connect with history! Location: Start at the Visitor Center at 6510 Western Trail NW, Albuquerque, NM 87120. The viewing trails are a short drive from here. Jemez Pueblo: I pay a visit to this historic Pueblo community, approximately 40 miles northwest of Albuquerque. Stay tuned for a special "Pluribus" reference for fans of the hit show! Remember to visit the Walatowa Visitor Center first to learn about Towa culture and visitor etiquette. Location: Walatowa Visitor Center, 7413 Highway 4, Jemez Pueblo, NM 87024. The Gilman Tunnels: My final stop takes me through the stunning, narrow mountain pass of the Gilman Tunnels in the southwestern Jemez Mountains. These historic former railway tunnels are now a highly photogenic driving route along NM 485 (which turns into Forest Road 376). Location: Located on NM 485 along the Rio Guadalupe, approximately 5 miles northwest of the intersection of NM 4 and NM 485. Thanks for watching!
