ReadAloud at The Ohio State University: November 3, 2011 Dr. Dick Davis, Department Chair of Near Eastern Languages & Culture, read from Vis and Ramin (a romance, and the probable source of the Tristan and Isolde story), and from a book of translations entitled Three Poets of Shiraz. The three are Hafez, the best known lyric poet of Iran, Jahan Khatun, the only woman poet of medieval Iran whose complete works have come down to us - she's a great poet and virtually unknown, and Obayd--e Zakani.
