Greg has spent 30 years researching, documenting and saving the history of the Crockett family's longrifle building career. The Forge Seat Rifle Shop ran from 1808 - 1826 and was operated by Samuel Crockett lll and Andrew Crockett lll, cousins of the legendary David Crockett THE THREE ORIGINAL RIFLES THAT HAVE SURVIVED TIME ARE SIGNED S&AC, WITH THEIR MAKERS MARK, DATED 1811, NUMBERED 19, 1811, NUMBER 14, 1823, NUMBER 75, WITH THE CROCKETT'S LETTER "C". These rifles produced at Forge Seat, played an important role in American history. Crockett rifles are documented to have been at the battle of King's Mountain, Andrew Jacksons victory in the battle of New Orleans, "War of 1812", Defenders of Fort Chiswell and Fort Nashborough.
