Focal Dystonia - Interview with Neurologist Professor Eckart Altenmüller

Here I interview Professor Eckart Altenmüller from the Institute of Music Physiology and Musicians’ Medicine in Hanover, Germany. Professor Altenmüller has been at the forefront of research into focal dystonia for many years and has helped many musicians recover from this debilitating illness. I ask Professor Altenmüller some rudimentary questions about the condition, common misperceptions and solicit from him words of advice for affected musicians as they embark on what can be a long and tumultuous journey towards recovery. Professor Altenmüller often prescribes a course of Trihexyphenidyl (Artane) alongside botox injections. We discuss this and in another video I will show the botox injections.
