The classic 1870 American Gospel / children's hymn "Come to the Saviour, make no delay" (no. 1165 in the 1200-piece edition of Sankey's "Sacred Songs and Solos"), played by Peter Tylor on the 1898 Hele pipe organ at All Saints Church, St Ewe, Cornwall, 14/01/2019. I have recorded this once before (March 2016), but this is the first time I have done so at St Ewe, and this was also my first visit to St Ewe since I started using my Zoom H2n audio recorder last August. Unfortunately the Swell was suffering from persistently sticky notes, so I could only use the Great and Pedal stops on this occasion - although I accidentally left the Swell to Great coupler on whilst playing this hymn, despite having no Swell stops drawn! Come to the Saviour, make no delay; Here in His word He has shown us the way; Here in our midst He’s standing today, Tenderly saying, "Come!" (Chorus:) Joyful, joyful, will the meeting be, When from sin our hearts are pure and free; And we shall gather, Saviour, with Thee, In our eternal home. "Suffer the children!" Oh, hear His voice! Let every heart leap forth and rejoice; And let us freely make Him our choice: Do not delay, but come. (Chorus) Think once again, He’s with us today; Heed now His blest command, and obey; Hear now His accents tenderly say, "Will you, my children, come?"
