Jaypee infratech is a classic real estate boom to burst case study. Jaypee Infratech was once considered as one of biggest construction companies of India, filled for insolvency in 2017. They had launched a total of 33,000 flats in 2010, of which only 13,000 have been completed in last 13 years. 20,000 families are still waiting for their Homes for last 12 years. In this video I have shared, Why Jaypee Infratech was not able to complete their multiple projects which were part of their flagship brand Jaypee Greens, how Jaypee Infratech reached the stage of Insolvency, Why RERA, NCLT, Court of law took 6 years to decide a resolution plan to complete the under construction units and finally what are the lessons for Home buyer and what are the precautions they need to take while buying a house. Jaypee Infratech launched a mega integrated township by the name of Jaypee wish town in Noida back in 2007. With this project they were expected to change the fortunes of Noida and Greater Noida real estate market. They constructed some of the biggest and most important projects in India including Yamuna Expressway, Buddha International circuit and launching one of the biggest integrated townships in Noida and a sports city in Gautam Buddh Nagar. But due to highly ambitious projects, mismanagement of funds and downrun in real estate market led to their insolvency. But biggest set back for home buyers was the inability of India regulatory frame work including RERA, NCLT and court of law, in finalizing a resolution plan for home buyer.
