I also explain how to fully bake a pie crust for cold desserts (things that won't be baked again) such as an icebox pie or a jello instant cheesecake etc. UPDATE: For even more insurance against over cooking or burning your pie shell, you can bake them at 400 instead of 450 and use roughly the same cooking times.
