This was meant to be a boat dive, leaving from Portsea Pier. Alas, it was cancelled due to the technical difficulties. So what do I do? A dive under Portsea Pier, of course! With a huge surge coming through, it was like a washing machine under there. Took the GoPro and a macro lens and got some close up footage of crittters (a hard time keeping still with the camera, though) . Also retrieved as squid jig from the fin of a poor little puffer fish. (Okay, maybe not quite the calibre of a"Mantra Rescue" (YouTube that!), but still...) I later remembered pufferfish contain tetrodotoxin, up to 1,200 times more poisonous than cyanide. There is enough toxin in one pufferfish to kill 30 adult humans, and there is no known antidote. Next time the squid jig stays where it is... Also came across about seven weedy seadragons, all hanging out together at the far end of the pier, enjoying the conditions. And a few nudibranchs as well. Water temp 16 C, viz about 4-5 metres.
