Solo Taijutsu Lesson 66 includes a Taihenjutsu drill to improve flexibility and balance, 16 methods of atemi no tanren applying ura kitan / shuto ken, and variations on ka not kata to put our striking into practise. The entire lesson can be completed in less than 30 minutes (10 drill reps, 160 strike reps, 60 kata reps). You can add reps to your practise, and are encouraged to practise the entire lesson several times this week (try on both sides of the body!). Stay safe and have fun! Training to receive and strike with different intentions (advancing, maintaining, retreating), on varying angles, and in various postures prepares you to embody these principles across changing circumstances and environments. Atemi no tanren is the striking of objects to condition the weapon. Ura kitan ken / shuto ken is the palm down sword hand.
