The Details: I was gonna write a more involved explanation about this project but essentially: I had almost zero serious compositional experience, but I loved making music and wanted to get over my perfectionist tendencies, so I sporadically decided on New Year’s Eve 2022 to write Happy Birthday variations everyday for all of 2023. It was extremely hard, but fun and I learned a lot. Sadly, personal problems led me to abandoning the old channel and starting again from zero here a few months ago, but now that I’m back I want to make sure I honor the effort I put into this project and finally put it to bed before moving on to something new. *also yes technically I failed the challenge by letting musescore play some of the variations (I believe 4 of them...), but you'll have to forgive me I'm bad at learning pieces quickly. **ENORMOUS THANK YOU TO RODRIGO MASID! Back when I first finished these variations, he approached me in the comments to help re-engrave all the sheet music and clean it up. In some cases, he ended up entirely recreating scores from scratch, and often played them himself to ensure he understood how best to edit them. In addition, he even composed his own variation for the set to fill in the missing hole where I should have composed a variation for leap day (which I will feature at some point in the future). With the amount of time and effort he spent in working on this project, even treating it as if it was his own, I seriously cannot thank him enough.
