A big pattern change is on the way once we get through this weekend. Much warmer temperatures will overspread the nation through next week before another big pattern change returns the cold and perhaps snow to go along with it. In the meantime, it will be cold and snowy across much of the Great Lakes and Northeast, as a couple of clippers swing through and the Lake Effect Snow machine gets going. Look for some areas in the Snowbelt to pick up as much as 3 feet of snow. Lows will get down into he negative teens and highs will struggle to get above zero in some places over the next couple of days. Quiet weather is in store for most of the rest of the nation as high pressure will be in control. Out west, the rain may pick up as we head through the weekend, however, as the subtropical jet kicks back into gear. I cover all of that and more in today's video.
