Let's see if Youtube uploads the whole thing this time. Dr. Hook was a unique presence on the airwaves of the 70's. Starting out as CCR-esque rockers, they embraced the Disco sound and had an amazing run of dance hits as the 70's wound down, yet singles, rather than album sales, were their strong suit. Bizarrely, most of their songs were barely three minutes duration, the European 12" 45 rpm of this song topped out at 2:58 - I guess if you've said what you want to say, why not move on? Their album cover art was amazing - this was the era of 12" glossy artwork and intricate band logos. And now, we find ourselves in an era where packaging means nothing... I don't know, maybe it's me, but an album with a lyric sheet and credits and thankyous and font size you didn't need a magnifying glass for on the inner sleeve was the icing on the cake.
