Your Medication Oxycodone & Acetaminophen Oxycodone and Acetaminophen is known as the brand names: Endocet and Percocet. Percocet comes in a tablet dosage form. Oxycodone with acetaminophen is used to treat moderate to severe pain. You can safely take it every 4 to 6 hours as needed for your pain. Do not exceed 4 g of acetaminophen in a day. Some common side effects of oxycodone with acetaminophen are dizziness and nausea. Some less common side effects are headache, drowsiness, fatigue, insomnia, compulsive skin picking, itching, blisters, hot flashes, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and respiratory depression. Do not take oxycodone with acetaminophen if: • You have acute or severe asthma, hypercarbia, or paralytic ileus While taking oxycodone with acetaminophen, it is important to remember to tell your doctor or pharmacist if: • You experience liver problems (dark urine, fatigue, lack of appetite, nausea, abdominal pain, etc.) • You experience severe dizziness, passing out, severe fatigue, difficulty breathing, slow breathing, severe constipation or severe loss of strength and energy • You have signs of serotonin syndrome (dizziness, severe headache, agitation, hallucinations, abnormal heartbeat, flushing, and tremors) • You have signs of an allergic reaction (wheezing, chest tightness, fever, itching, bad cough, blue skin color, etc.) • You start taking any new medication, supplement or vitamins • Your condition does not improve or you develop new or worsening symptoms
