How Will We Be Remembered? Designing Our Legacy and Next Chapter

As I prepare for retirement this year, I’ve been thinking more about legacy, not in terms of money or accomplishments, but in terms of how we live and the impact we have on the people around us. In this Sunday on the Porch conversation, I share how my understanding of legacy has changed over time. When I was younger, I thought it was mostly about what we leave behind in terms of an estate and notable achievements. But as I’ve gotten older, and as important people in my life have passed away, I’ve realized that legacy is about how we live, how we treat others, and encourage the next generation. Those are the aspects of legacy that truly matter. In this video, I reflect on three people who shaped my understanding of legacy and how their lives continue to influence how I’m choosing to live this next chapter. I also share why this season of life is an opportunity to be intentional about what matters most, and how planning and peace of mind allow us to focus on living fully.
