Shri Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga is located in Verul, Aurangabad which is also known as Ellora. This Jyotirlinga is also called as Grushmeshwar and Kushumeshwar Jyotirlinga and is approximately 300 kms from Mumbai. We can find mentioning of this jyotirlinga in Shiv Puran. The temple of this jyotirlinga was built in 13th to 14th century AD which was destroyed several time by Mughal sultanate and was rebuilt in late 16th century by Maloji Bhisale ( Grand father of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj ) and was renovated (Current structure) in 18th Century by Ahilyabai Holkar. This is the smallest Jyotirlinga Temple (In terms of area). This temple was constructed using Red Rock and we can find the carving of Dashavtara of lord Vishnu and Various Avtara of Lord Shiv from Shiv Puran. One interesting fact about this Jyotirlinga is, Men must have to enter Garbhgriha of temple bare Chested also this Jyotirlinga is called as 12th Jyotirlinga.
