“Hand Circles” is an exercise by Oscar Ichazo. It is from a series of 23 movement and breathing exercises practiced in the Arica School called "P-Cals." Hand Circles are essential for releasing tension in our hands and wrists from using devices and other equipment in our daily lives. Ichazo developed his energy–generating series of twenty–three moving and breathing exercises called "P–Cals." These exercises, using the breathing technique he proposes, awaken your entire body with a flash of vital energy. These exercises have been available since the 1960s and are used by an international following of people who practice P–Cals regularly as well as his other energy–generating exercises that use your breath to receive the utmost benefit from any form of exercise. The important takeaway about P–Cals is that it gives you a way to maximize the results of exercising. Plus, by mastering and centering yourself in your breathing, you will gain another way of being in which you can control your emotions, and quiet your thoughts. You can go beyond using the breathing technique as just an exercise application by working the technique throughout your day to reduce the "ups and downs" of life's process, establishing a base of internal calm and happiness. By opening your breath to its natural rhythm and purpose, you will find that the peace, love and happiness that is found in meditation will be awakened in you. To learn more about P-Cals read "Make Exercise A Meditation, Mastering Your Breath." In "Make Exercise A Meditation, Mastering Your Breath," Oscar Ichazo provides an engaging commentary on the history and purpose of physical exercise that includes how he describes the body divided into five specific parts, He also introduces the way to awaken each part with movement and breath for maximum physical benefit. His series of exercises called "P-Cals" (shortened form of Psychocalisthenics; "psyche" meaning mind or spirit) gives you a way to enhance the results of exercising and, by mastering your breathing, you will pacify your emotions and quiet your mind.
