Listen to the new recording from our project Maqomat. This project is a research on Uzbek traditional music, which we do together with Abror Zufarov. The represented here format of notation was developed by Artyom Kim and Jakhongir Shukurov especially for the project. This format -- which we called "Progressive Notation" -- fixes the smallest micro-chromatic details of the music line, and can be used for many types of music. Progressive Notation gives a possibility to study and perform traditional music in a very authentic way. Two pieces presented here -- Garduni Rost and Muhammasi Ushok -- were recorded by musicians of Omnibus, who are educated in the West tradition. So, any musician from the West (with certain professional level and motivation) can get the same results by use of the materials from the Maqomat project.
