After much thinking, I've decided to start on the 2nd Spyro game of the original PS2 trilogy from Insomniac Games. If you're not really feeling it for those Skylanders games, I suggest you subscribe to my channel as I upload my completion of this wonderful sequel. I've already finished the first game, so you can check that out below: • Spyro the Dragon 100%+ Playthrough I'll be playing this game straight off of my PS3, as I downloaded it to there through PSN. I would've made part of the title say "Welcome to Avalar!", but I soon realized that that was overused, here. -------------- Here's the story. In the previous game, Spyro the Dragon and Sparx the Dragonfly had freed all of the adult dragons from Gnasty Gnorc, toasting him, and taking back all the treasure he stole from the dragons. About a year later, Spyro, being a bit older with a brand new famous voice, decides that he wants to go on a vacation. He suggests taking a portal to Dragon Shores, a place he hasn't gone to since Gnasty's defeat. Spyro & Sparx quickly race into the portal, not realizing what they were in for. They ended up being taken to a new world called Avalar, thanks to the efforts of the Professor, Elora the Faun, and Hunter the Cheetah. They were all summoning a dragon to help them defeat an evil, dragon-hating wizard called Ripto. Once everyone met each other, including Ripto, the tiny tyrant leaves with his dinosaur henchmen, Crush and Gulp, swearing that he will kill Spyro after destroying his only way back to the Dragon World. Elora gives Spyro a Guidebook for his new, upcoming adventure. An adventure that he and Sparx didn't even want... So much for that vacation. I guess whoever said "It ain't easy being green", never got to be purple. Notice how much angrier Spyro looks in the face when you're controlling him this game, for example. -------------- Unlike Spyro 1, you start off in this game within a level before you can reach the homeworld, instead of just starting straight inside the homeworld, itself. Here in Glimmer, your main objective is to help a bunch of giant kangaroo mice called Gemcutters fight against a bunch of silly lizards. When you get to the end, you'll be rewarded with the level's Talisman: The Magic Pick. These Talismans replace your freeing of dragons from crystal. But you also have to worry about Orbs, which can be earned for doing other tasks not relating to the just reaching the end of the level. In Glimmer's case, getting one of them involves lighting gem lamps to charge a much bigger blue gem, and another involves helping another Gemcutter take down small, taunting lizards by spitting rocks at them. The 3rd Orb is for an objective that can't be done yet, because Spyro needs to learn how to climbs ladders. And then there's Moneybags, a British bear you'll be seeing throughout this game to take the Gems you've collected in exchange for either skill lesson or to activate something that lets Spyro continue through the level at hand. To also help you out, there's Zoe the Fairy, who will act as your new checkpoint as you travel through the level, and each time you collect something important. -------------- Overall, with all of the new NPCs you'll be talking to throughout this game, Spyro 2 levels will feel a lot more lively as you're going through them compared to Spyro 1's. ---------- See my start of Spyro 2 in Reignited Trilogy, here!: • Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage (Reignited Trilogy) ...
