Authorities are searching for two people after a vehicle went into the water near Beaver Park Marina in Lorain early Friday morning. The Coast Guard Sector Eastern Great Lakes tells 3News they received a notification around 4:45 a.m. from the Lorain Police Department "of a vehicle that went into the water somewhere in the vicinity of West Erie Avenue and Oak Point Road." Lorain police had reported that two people were in the car. "The location of the vehicle and the individuals is unknown at this point and an active search is ongoing," according to a press release from the Coast Guard, which we received shortly before 8:30 a.m. There are some traffic impacts due to the ongoing situation as crews have closed Oak Point Road between Old Lake Road and Erie Avenue.
