Done with Mega Man 1&2 on Wily Wars, and of course, now onto Mega Man 3! Like with Mega Man 2, I'd probably consider this port good or great at best. The graphics? Well, you get the point, there's new backgrounds and the 16-Bit graphics look pretty good. Though from what I heard in a review, Proto Man's sprites are just 16-Bitified versions of the NES ones, not even resprites technically! So that makes Proto Man look smaller than Mega Man in comparison. Oh yeah, and I feel like there's some palette issues when selecting a Rush item too, because Rush is not supposed to have a blue palette when you select him! The music here is honestly a little better than the 16-Bit compositions of the Mega Man 1&2 music in Wily Wars. It keeps the pace of the NES originals pretty well, and I'd say they're still great to listen to. I would say I'd still rather listen to the NES originals? But I'd probably say it's equal with the NES version in terms of how great it is to listen to. The gameplay is well, like I said in the previous Wily Wars longplays, it's tight, and the buster is slow, which makes getting the powers from Robot Masters much more necessary to use more often. I think the worst offender though, is that they made it so when you jump out of the water with Rush Marine, you get off of the Rush Marine. Like seriously, why did they do that? Thankfully when I played Mega Man 3 on the Anniversary Collection, they never changed it to be that way, but to be fair, the ports in that collection are just mostly accurate ports of the NES originals, and also technically ports of the PS1 Complete Works ports anyways, so of course it's a much more accurate port compared to Wily Wars. Honestly, I didn't have a lot to say for this port compared to Mega Man 1&2, so I'd say overall, it's still an alright port. As usual, I'd still rather play the NES/Famicom original, but for being a Sega Genesis port, it ain't really the worst way to play it I guess. Or... maybe it is? I'm not sure, I can't really think of a worse way to play Mega Man 3, apart from the Android/iOS port I guess.
