Support shots - Coin takes support of other coins to enter the pocket. 2. Double touch shots - The striker hits the coin twice before pocketing it. 3. Brush shots - Carrom brushes away other coins before pocketing its target. 4. Punch shots - used when coin is sticking to the edge of the board. 5. Touch shots - used when the striker and coin, or multiple coins are attached to one another. 6. Cuts with striker followthrough - commonly used to make the next shot easier. 7. Third pocket shots - coin hits at least one edge of the board before being pocketed. Tips for beginner carrom players who want to improve their game. 1. Practice straight shots and thumb shots first. 2. Learn to control the speed of striker release. Use only as much power as is required. 3. Then progress to cut shots, rebounds, and third pocket shots, which will increase your shot options, and will make you a better accomplished player. 4. Plan ahead. A good carrom shot is one, that not only pockets the intended piece, but also paves the way for the next shot. Lastly, the carrom ideas shown in this video, will help you find a way out of difficult board situations.
