On Day 3 of our Eastern Sierra Fall Color trip, my wife and I made the drive south starting in the dark hours of the morning, arriving in this area around sunrise. We were just in time to capture the stillness of the morning which allowed for crystal clear reflections in a beautiful alpine pond framed with golden Aspen trees in peak autumn color. You couldn't ask for better conditions for fine art landscape photography on large format film! On this day, I utilized the large film area and detail afforded by my Intrepid 8x10 large format field camera and some Fujifilm Velvia 100F 8x10 film to capture the subtlety of the morning light in vivid color. We had some perfect conditions for outdoor photography in California's Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains.
