We have each had very separate paths and Aaron is one of those people in my life that feels more family than friend, so close that we are able to drift in and out of each other's lives without ever losing that cosmic connection. He's spent a lot of time in Tulsa over the past few years working on Reservation Dogs, while I've lived in Humboldt or been on tour with Everything is Terrible, and now that he's fresh out of rehab and we are both back in LA, we've enjoyed the much needed luxury of sitting down together in person and talking for hours. I've never been to a twelve step meeting, but I'm sure Alcoholics Anonymous will continue to come up in these episodes, as it already has. So I think it's great to get Aaron's perspective. He is someone who was perhaps a bit reluctant to surrender too said program, but has found a way to utilize this recovery technology and gain some momentum in his recovery. I really enjoy a lot of the philosophy and ideas within the AA framework and have found these ideas helpful over the years. And it's even better for me to listen to someone like Aaron give me his perspective.
