Muslim Law: Divorce under Muslim Law I Modes of Divorce Hello, This is the 6th video in a series of lecture on Family Law. In today’s video we will understand the Concept of Dissolution of Marriage under Muslim Law or Concept of Divorce under Muslim Law. In this video we will discuss different modes of Divorce under Muslim Law. Talaq, Ila, Zihar, Talaq ul sunnat, Talaq ul Biddat, Khula, Mubarat, Talaq e tafweez are the kinds of divorces under muslim law in India. There are two categories of divorce under the Muslim law: 1.) Extra judicial divorce, and 2.) Judicial divorce The category of extra judicial divorce can be further subdivided into three types, namely, # By husband- talaaq, ila, and zihar. # By wife- talaaq-i-tafweez, lian. # By mutual agreement- khula and mubarat. The second category is the right of the wife to give divorce under the Dissolution of Muslim Marriages Act 1939. Muslim Law/Islam Law/Mohammedan Law: Today’s video is on Muslim Family Law. Family Law is broadly categorized in 2 Parts: Hindu Law & Muslim Law. Hindu Law contains Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Adoption & Maintenance Act, Hindu Minority & Guardianship Act, Hindu Succession Act.
