During our recent trip to Yorkshire, we decided to visit the incredible York Minster. The Cathedral in York dominates the skyline of the medieval and historic town and is visible from miles around. Inside the Minster, you are transported to a world of religious opulence and wealth. Featuring an incredible nave, beautiful stained glass windows, and glistening altars, it really is a great place to visit. We also ventured into the crypts which as beneath the Cathedral. Here you can visit the tomb of Saint William of York, and observe some incredible architecture. The site of the Minster stands on an old Roman building, which in itself was rather grand.
