On December 7th, 2015, a six year old by the name of Logan Tipton was murdered after Ronald Exantus broke into their home, and attacked the family. Both Versailles & Kentucky’s overall judicial system then decided that they would only charge Exantus with the assault on the family, and exonerated him from Logan’s murder under “insanity”. He was supposed to serve 20 years for the charges given, but in 2025, was released after a measly 7 years from sentencing on “good behavior”. I reached out to the Tiptons, and asked if they would want to use my equipment and editorial skills to make a video telling their story in full. No cuts for short segment lengths. No concisions or rushing. Just let it all out, and they agreed. In this interview, I’m joined by Dean, Heather, Koral, Dakota, & Lilly Tipton, father, mother & sisters of Logan respectively. They detail the fateful night Logan was murdered, from each’s perspective, along with the court case, the aftermath & ten years of living with the verdict, Exantus’ release, and the future. Living in Versailles myself, this event had always haunted me. While I never really knew the family personally beforehand, knowing that a child as obviously sweet as Logan from the photos we’ve seen, having his life shortened senselessly is by proxy undeniably traumatic & horrifying. We NEVER have things like this happen in our town. I was still in high school when this had taken place, and thought that even though it wouldn’t be the justice I feel was needed, having Exantus locked up til death would at least be somewhat fulfilling. You can imagine, maybe even empathize the shear and utter rage when we all heard the verdict, but alas, nothing was done. Ten years ago, I wish I had the experience and willpower I have now. I wish I reached out and tried to help make this story bigger, with what little platform I had, and maybe hopefully change the verdict to what it should be, but I was under the impression that nothing could be done, and that the family just wanted to be left alone. Fast forward to 2025, Exantus is released, and like the Tiptons, we all felt that sense of rage boil under our skin once more. I simply couldn’t just stand by and let this play out, I had to do SOMETHING to help, and felt what needed to be done was to use my skills in media to put together an uncut video of their story. Logan needed Justice, and the family needed to let it all out to the world. But shortly before we managed to sit down and do the interview, the story exploded, thanks mostly in part to Internet personalities & celebrities such as Matt Walsh, The Hodge Twins, Collin Rugg, James Woods, Elon Musk, & many more. Speaking for myself, my tears of anger and sorrow turned to tears of hope and joy. Thank you, to every one of them, as well as everyone in general for helping make the Tipton family’s voices heard. Logan is finally getting the recognition he deserves, and hopefully soon after, the justice he deserves. And finally: I appreciate Dean, Heather, Dakota, Koral, & Lilly Tipton all for welcoming me into their home and sharing their experiences on this horrific, and unjust matter. I will happily come back down to record another episode if they need me to. Logan deserves to be remembered eternally, and I’m willing to do whatever I can to aid them in that quest.
