As the premium paramedical franchise, Trauma Team is one of the most powerful corporations of the 21st century. Recently Dark Horse released the first issue of Cyberpunk 2077: Trauma Team, a four-part comics series that follows an assistant EMT named Nadia, who is trying to moveon after a tragic mission. We still don’t know if Nadia will be featured in the Cyberpunk 2077 game but as far as I know the comics story is canon. So we can expect a few references and easter-eggs at least. About the Trauma Team background story. In 2020, TT boasted over a dozen squads on call at any time in any major city. Back in the 20s, whenever someone dials 911, the Trauma Team automatically bills the caller from the moment the call is made until delivery to the hospital. The charges could vary but they were usually 100 Eddies for every minute until the arrival at the hospital. Special plans did exist ranging from 500 to 34000 eddies per month. Back then the fanciest you could get was a gold plan that would guarantee a response time of under 5 minutes. Also, all ammunition and fuel costs would be covered by that plan, but the customer would still have to pay for any equipment or personnel damage. After the Fourth Corporate war, things changed substantially worldwide. And of course, it wasn’t any different for TT. Moving forward a few decades, by the time of the Red, Trauma Team works now as independent franchises that maintain a few groups of licensed paramedics. They patrol the city responding to the calls of accident victims who subscribe to their service. Moving forward to 2077 night city, it appears that things are better again for our very expensive heroes. From what we could see during the 2018 gameplay footage, they are back at performing combat extractions. There is also a new level or membership called Platinum. Advertising for Trauma Team is visible in a megabuilding lobby and it promises a 3-minute response time, so that clearly means that they have more troops available by 2077. Made up of the best paramedical tech and staff available. Any TT squad is made of 6 integrants, being one AV pilot, one AV co-pilot and gunner, two security specialists, a lead emergency medical technician and his assistant. Each squad has their own Medical AV, a light-weight Aerodyne modified to carry state of the art medical equipment. Usually, both pilots and co-pilots don’t leave their cockips doring patient extraction. During flight, the security specialist will operate two side-mounted machine-guns.
