Let's revisit this topic, one last time... It's Fibroid Awareness Month! Something I was NOT aware of this until Lupita Nyongo posted it about it a few weeks ago, and I'm so glad she did. As someone whose dreams for motherhood were CRUSHED when I discovered I had fibroids (among other realizations) I related so heavily to Lupita's journey and it inspired me to be honest about my own grief over a life I wanted, but will not get the chance to live. Two years ago, I shared my fibroid diagnosis with the internet and I shared how that diagnosis prompted me to stop my Single Mom By Choice journey. Two years later, the circumstances have not changed and recently I've been forced to accept the finality of not being able to explore options for motherhood in any capacity whatsoever in my lifetime. Tough. Grieving the life you thought you would have is hard, but being honest about those feelings absolutely helps. If you can relate to this, trust me, I understand.
