SDN centralizes the control plane on a controller, simplifying switch management. 👉What is ACI? ACI is Cisco's variant of SDN, offering a policy-driven model for managing network switches. It automates configuration and orchestration. 👉Components of ACI: Switches: ACI requires specific Cisco Nexus 9300 or 9500 series switches deployed in a two-tier leaf-spine architecture. APIC (Application Policy Infrastructure Controller): This hardware device manages and automates switch configurations based on policies you create. Different variants (medium/large) support various endpoint (device) counts. 👉Connectivity: Leaf and spine switches must be connected in a specific way, with no direct leaf-to-leaf or spine-to-spine connections allowed. VPC (Virtual Port Channel) is supported but only on the leaf level. Pure Link and Pure Keep Alive messages for VPC use the fabric (spines) for communication. Stay tuned for future videos that delve deeper into specific aspects of this technology. P.S. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more tech magic! ✨
