Me and the boys would like to thank the Melo family for welcoming us and treating us like family. I also would like to thank Vito and his brother from Mayday Malones and all the portuguese and italian companies that sponsored this event... I would like to thank Sully's Gym, Sully and Joe Monteiga for giving me a place to grow when i was a kid to become the man i am today and i would like to thank Tony Morrison for training my daughter to defend herself and punch like a donkey lol. I would like to thank Eddie Melo for showing me that Portuguese kids can fulfil their dreams and become a champion of Canada against all odds, and show me never to give up and to work hard and for this we salute you. Let this be a lesson to all the sons of Portugal with handwork,determination and belief in yourself you can become the light-heavyweight champion of Canada or anything else for that matter. I'm a little upset that the Portuguese community has not nominated Eddie for the Portuguese Walk Of Fame I should start a petition to have his name placed where he so deserves.
