Join us for a monthly webinar series, ASK A PHYSICIST, with renowned physicists Paul Davies, Sara Walker and Maulik Parikh from the Beyond Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science at Arizona State University. Each webinar will address a big question in physics and the audience can submit questions ahead of time or during the webinar to add to the discussion! This month, Paul Davies and Maulik Parikh will be joined by guest presenter and ASU School of Earth and Space Exploration professor Steve Desch. February's webinar: Interstellar Objects in the Solar System The discovery of the first large interstellar object, named ‘Oumuamua, in 2017 led to a flurry of excitement. What sort of body is it and how often is the solar system visited by comets and asteroids from the stars? The discovery of at least one additional interstellar object has opened up a new branch of astronomy, with tantalizing clues about our place in the universe.
