The Hour of Reckoning - An Elder's Stark Warning & Advice to the Young (With Stephen Jenkinson)

In the early 2000’s Stephen Jenkinson worked for Canada’s Palliative Care association counselling somewhere between 1000-1500 people on their death beds. This led to him becoming the subject of the Canadian Film Board’s 2008 Documentary - Griefwalker. The profound nature of his work in what he calls ‘The Death Trade’ has since led to much notoriety, attention and criticism earning him various titles over the years the most ominous of which being ‘The Angel of Death’. While Stephen teaches much on death, denial and grief, Stephen is many other things too: A farmer, a sculpture, a travelling musician, a Harvard graduate, an author of half a dozen or so books, a culture activist, a husband, a father, just to name a few… But today at age 69, what best describes Stephen in his work is that of an Elder. In a time where many of us feel bereft of belonging and orientation, Stephens wisdom, his warmth and his remarkable lived experience is not just guiding but deeply nourishing to the soul.
