Making Periwinkle Paper Flowers Illustration 💜 Botanical Spring Crafts 🌿 Relaxing Art Process

Hi friends! 💜 I hope you had a peaceful and happy Easter! In this video, I’m making Periwinkles (Vinca minor), a flower I’ve been meaning to try for a while. They grow all around my apartment building and I’ve always loved how they trail along the ground like little bursts of color. I made the classic purple ones this time. One thing I love doing before I start a new flower is sketching it out first. It helps me understand how the leaves connect to the stem and how the petals are arranged: how they twist, overlap and give the flower its unique form. It’s not just about getting the shape right, but about feeling how the flower is built, almost like getting to know it a little better before I try to recreate it in paper. Normally, these quick studies tend to be a bit chaotic, but since I’m planning to collect them in a proper sketchbook, I’m trying to work a bit cleaner. It would be nice to have a collection to look back on, a sort of paper flower journal I can flip through for ideas, reminders, or just inspiration for the next piece.
